How I Read Tarot: An Intuitive Approach to Energy Reading

I’ve been reading tarot for about five years now, and the one thing I can say with full confidence is this: for me, it has never just been about the cards.

I Read Energy, Not Just Cards

When I sit down with someone for a reading, I’m not simply looking at imagery on a deck and reciting meanings from a book. I’m tuning in — to the person’s energy, to what’s present in the space around them, to what’s trying to come through.

Some call it reading “the ether.” I call it listening.

There are moments in a reading where I’ll go quiet. Not because I’ve lost my train of thought — but because something is trying to be heard, and I need to slow down to catch it. Sometimes I’ll fix my gaze on a particular card or a specific part of the image, not to stare blankly, but because I’m in an active conversation with what’s showing up. I’m asking it to get clearer, and it does.

Where This Ability Comes From

I didn’t wake up one day and decide to read tarot. This intuitive connection developed long before I ever held a deck in my hands.

It started in dreams — vivid, layered, meaningful dreams that began in childhood. That’s a whole story for another post (one I’m genuinely excited to write). But the foundation was built there: a sensitivity to what exists beyond the surface of things, and a willingness to take it seriously.

Through years of spiritual practice, what I’ve come to understand about the energy I connect with is this: it is, at its core, an energy of peace and love. Every time I enter a reading, I come from that place — with the genuine intention of serving the best interest of the person I’m reading for. Nothing more, nothing less.

Why I Love Reading Strangers

One of my favorite things about offering tarot readings online is reading for people I’ve never met.

No shared history. No context. No assumptions.

When I read a stranger, my conscious mind has nothing to latch onto — no backstory to fill in the gaps, no prior knowledge to accidentally bias the reading. What comes through has to come from somewhere else entirely. And in my experience, that’s exactly when readings are the most accurate and the most powerful.

Who I Tend to Resonate With

Here’s something that has genuinely surprised me over the years: the audience I connect with most deeply tends to be highly logical people — doctors, medical practitioners, analysts. People who live primarily in their left brain but carry a quiet curiosity about the things that can’t be fully explained by it.

There’s something beautiful about that. The most skeptical minds often receive the most profound readings, because they’re not trying to make the reading fit a narrative — they’re just open enough to hear what’s true.
