Can tarot predict the future?
My honest answer: not in the way most people hope.
The Future Is Not Fixed
When I read about future events in a session, I’m not accessing some locked-in version of what’s coming. What I’m reading is the energy you’re carrying right now — and where that energy is pointed.
Think of it like trajectory. If you’re standing at point A, heading in a particular direction, at a particular speed, with particular things in your way — I can give you a pretty clear picture of where you’re likely to end up. But that’s not destiny. That’s physics.
The future is malleable. It changes constantly based on what you do, what you think, and what you choose. That’s not a limitation of tarot — it’s actually the most empowering thing about it.
Then Why Do Readings Feel So Accurate?
Because most people don’t change.
Not because they can’t — but because change is hard, and most of us keep doing the same things and hoping for different results. Einstein reportedly called that insanity, and it’s hard to argue with him.
When a reading about the future “comes true,” it usually means the person continued on the same energetic path they were already on. The reading didn’t predict the future — it mapped the momentum.
The Most Useful Question Isn’t “What Will Happen?”
It’s: “What do I need to see right now to change the trajectory?”
That’s the real power of a tarot reading. Not fortune-telling, but awareness-building. When you can see clearly where you are and what’s driving you, you can make deliberate choices that shift the direction.
Even small changes compound. Doing one thing you’ve never done before can alter everything downstream.
